What we need:
- 12 hours notice for schedule changes.

- Licensing with SF ACC.
- Towels and instructions for rainy/muddy days.

Join the pack
K9 Safari charges $20 per outing ($18 if your pooch goes out 5 days a week). Two dog households are $34 per day ($32 if they go all week). There's also a "taxi fee" of $5 if your dog needs to be picked up at one location and dropped off at another. Want to join our pack? Contact Us »
About us
K9 Safari was created by me and my husband, (Megan and Jay) after we adopted our wonderful mastiff mutt, Tahollow. We slowly learned the ins and outs of dog life, training and etiquette as well as the different San Francisco dog parks. We found that dog walking was what brought us complete happiness. Soon after adopting Tahollow, I met a wonderful woman, Michelle, who had been walking dogs in our Alamo Square neighborhood for years. Michelle took us under her wing and mentored us both, guiding us to start a business of our own. And so began K9 Safari.
Jay and I took Tahollow, as well as a couple local pooches and roamed the many dog parks of this gorgeous city, meeting other K9 lovers who were in need of their dogs to be exercised. Being very active, Jay and I were thrilled to play, run and explore the city parks and beaches with different dogs of the city. We slowly built numerous packs and learned so much from the dogs, books, each other and the guidance of Michelle, who was on her way to start a family. In 2001, Michelle handed her business to us and we began dog walking full time.
Since 2001, K9 Safari has flourished into a full time, Monday through Friday, loving dog walking business. We offer hour long walks at Fort Funston, Stern Grove, Alamo Square and Buena Vista Park. We run, play and love our packs, keeping them busy and engaged in play at all times, yet supplying them with structure, safety and basic training. As the years have gone by we have fallen in love with many dogs, enjoying our daily outings with them, rain or shine. It is hard to believe this is a job!
We have been lucky enough to find to other people who share our love for K9s and the outdoors! Jennifer Nelson joined us in 2006 and has tired out many a dog in her time. Heidi George arrived in the beginning of 2007 and has been hiking Fort Funston with athleticism and love! All of us have become one big happy dog loving family as we continue keeping tails wagging throughout San Francisco.
